Every Woman's Battle

When Selah Freedom approached PURE Sarasota about creating a choreography that grappled with the trials faced by victims of sex trafficking, how could we say no? More than 10 dancers collaborated to create this piece that was inspired by stories about two of Selah's residents. The dance was performed in February 2015 for Selah Freedom's volunteer recognition event. It tells a story of transition from victim to survivor, shows the importance of individuals who work to educate the community and ends with a celebration of survivors.

A huge thank you to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota and Dance, Etc. in Englewood for providing rehearsal space as well as the many others who volunteered their time and talents to this incredible project.
